death by chocolate cookies...

Yesterday was the perfect rainy fall day,
and baking these decadent cookies were on the agenda.

~ Death by Chocolate Cookies ~

Of course, they're simple ~ one bowl, no mixer.
They're a little crisp on the outside,
with chunks of smooth, melting Hershey's Milk Chocolate inside, truly delish!

~ Recipe ~

2 - 6 oz. Hershey Bars
12 oz. (2 cups) semi-sweet chocolate chips
3/4 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. butter
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. baking powder

350 degrees - 2 dozen cookies

Coarsely chop Hershey Bars; set aside. In large bowl, microwave chocolate chips on
high 1 -2 minutes, stir until smooth and melted. Mix in sugar, butter, eggs and vanilla.
Stir in flour and baking powder. Stir in reserved Hershey Bar pieces.
Drop onto ungreased cookie sheet. I line my pan with parchment paper, but it's optional.
Bake 11 minutes, cool on cookie sheet for 1 minute before transferring to cooling rack.

HOLLA! :) I might try to make these with dark chocolate - they would probably be equally yummy don't you think? I want one right now. And I love recipes where I don't have to break out the mixer.

OH Pam these look delicious! It is a grey day here but so far no rain... I think this is just what the doctor ordered! I know the boys will thoroughly enjoy them. Since we have no Hershey's in the house I think I'll just use some of our Aldi chocolate (gotta love inexpensive imported from Germany chocolate!) Have a wonderful day!!

Yum, I have been making a similar cookie this summer by adapting brownie mix into a cookie recipe, trying to use up a huge box of Ghiradelli brownie mix from Costco.

Love the styling, last shot could be on the cover of Bon Appetit!
